Countertop Design &
Installation

Want to refresh the look of your kitchen or bathroom? Upgrading your countertops is one of the easiest and most impactful changes you can make, especially in smaller spaces. If you’re worried about the installation process, you’ll be happy to know it’s simpler than you may think! Here’s what to expect when installing new stone, quartz, or solid surface countertops.

Step 1

Choosing the Right Material for Your Countertops

Choosing the right countertop material is the most important first step, and it depends on durability, style, cost, and how you’ll use the space. Quartz is great for kitchens, marble works well in low-traffic areas like bathrooms, and granite is ideal for outdoor use. Our showroom experts can guide you through your options and help you find the perfect fit for your needs and budget.

Step 2

Design and Installation Considerations

Before installing new countertops, you’ll need to decide who will handle the demolition, whether it’s you, your contractor, or our team (which we can include in your bid). You’ll also want to consider sinks, faucets, backsplashes, edge styles, and plumbing. You can reuse your existing fixtures or upgrade, but be sure to arrange a licensed plumber for any disconnect and reconnect work.

Step 3

 The Estimate

After you choose a material, we’ll provide a formal estimate based on your countertop dimensions. You can send a simple sketch with measurements from your existing tops or builder plans. Don’t worry if they’re not perfect – we’ll take exact measurements later. The estimate will include all material and labor costs, plus optional add-ons like sink purchase or demo work. Once you approve and sign the estimate, we’ll move on to the next step.

Step 4

Laser Measure and Production

We’ll schedule a laser measurement of your space before starting countertop production, with morning or afternoon time slots available. Expect a 4-hour arrival window, and the team will call about 45 minutes before they arrive. Once measurements are complete, your project will move into production.

Step 5

 Fabrication

Our production team will review the template and create work orders. Your sales person will verify these with you before moving to production and supply you with a digital layout (if required/requested). Your new countertops will be cut and polished in our shop using precision CNC machines, a process that typically takes a few days. Once fabrication begins, we’ll schedule the installation.

Step 6

Installation

Before install, we recommend clearing out your drawers and cabinets or cover the contents with a drop cloth. The installation process will take a few hours, more or less depending on the size of your job. The crew will seal granite, quartzite and marble countertops. Quartz countertops never need to be sealed. Learn more about countertop maintenance here. The countertop adhesive takes about 24 hours to cure. We recommend waiting until the adhesive is fully cured and dried before hooking the plumbing back up and using your sinks.
